The Vine Ensemble is formed of the players from The Vine Quartet and soloists that work with them regularly. The Vine Quartet was established in 2014 whilst the members were studying at the University of Manchester and the Royal Northern College of Music and comprises violinists Henry Rankin and Louisa Till, violist Alex Robinson and cellist Jon Gibson. Between them they have a wealth of experience in instrumental performance, conducting, composing and arranging.

The quartet has received intensive tuition from the Quatuor Danel and the Chillingirian String Quartet and performs regularly in the UK. Recent highlights include a concert as part of the Guernsey based “Terra Nova” festival featuring the music of Steve Reich and Anton Webern and two performances of Joseph Haydn's “Seven Last Words” in 2017. The Vine Quartet brings their experience to the Vine Ensemble to furnish larger scale projects which recently have included several concerts with Manchester Singers, Feelgood Theatre Company, Bolton Choral Union and the Voices of Craven.
